The website of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology is a good resource on birds, birding, and backyard science. Includes a multimedia bird guide, All About Birds, and several ways for regular folks to participate. Also has Bird Sleuth, a collection of inquiry-based science units for elementary and middle school students.
